The Lincoln-Zephyr was introduced on 2 November 1935 as a 1936 model, extremely modern with a low raked windscreen, integrated fenders and a streamlined aerodynamic design, which gave rise to the name from the Greek word zephyrus, the west wind. For 1936 it was available as a two door sedan, listed at 1,275 dollars, or a four door sedan at 1,320 dollars, and a locking glove box was standard. It was a streamlined V12 powered luxury car of the Lincoln division of Ford.
