1937 Austin Sixteen

Automobiles

The year 1937 was the last year in which the car was made. The smaller engined Sixteen was dropped, and pressed steel road wheels replaced the wire wheels previously fitted. In mid 1937 the body was replaced by a new shape only available with the 18 horsepower engine, which was known as the Austin Eighteen. Between 1935 and 1937 a total of 12,731 were produced. It was the end of the car that had begun in 1927 as the Light Six.
