In 1934 the German company offered alternative bodied cars of its own design on the Köln, including a cheap open topped Cabrio Limousine of timber frame covered with synthetic leather, made in the manner of some small DKWs and Adlers. It was promoted as a car for everyman. The Köln was a small German built version of the British Ford Model Y, built at Cologne from 1933. It faced strong competition from Opel, DKW and Adler and was replaced by the Eifel.
