The German built version of the Model Y, renamed Ford Köln to stress its German origin, was first seen at the 1933 Berlin Motor Show, and it was built by Ford Germany at its Cologne plant. At first it used components and support from the English company, but during that year parts came more and more from German suppliers. It faced strong competition from Opel, DKW and Adler and was replaced by the Eifel. The Köln was a small German built version of the British Ford Model Y, built at Cologne from 1933.
