By 4 February 1929 one million Model As had been sold, and by 24 July two million. The range of body styles ran from the Tudor at 500 dollars, in gray, green or black, to the town car with a dual cowl at 1,200 dollars. The Model A was the first Ford to have its fuel tank in the cowl, between the engine fire wall and the dash panel, with a visual fuel gauge. The Model A kept its 103.5 inch wheelbase throughout.
