Honda Shadow

Motorcycles and Powered Two- and Three-Wheelers

Honda has made the Shadow, a family of cruiser motorcycles with a liquid cooled V-twin engine of 45 or 52 degrees, since 1983. Honda introduced the VT500C and VT750C Shadow in 1983 to enter the American cruiser market, and the line grew to include 600, 700, 800 and 1,100 cc models, with the 250 cc Honda Rebel associated with it in some markets. By 2011 the Shadow name was limited to a single 750 cc cruiser offered as the Spirit, Aero, Phantom and RS. This site lists a page for every model year in the span covered here, each focused on what changed in that year, grouped into 4 generations: the original V-twins (1983 to 1987 model years); the VT600, VT800 and VT1100 years (1988 to 1996 model years); the ACE and Spirit era (1997 to 2003 model years); the Aero, Spirit, Phantom and RS (2004 model year onward). Each year page links to its generation, to this model page, to the previous model year and to Honda.
