Honda released the Legend Coupe on February 6, 1987, with a bigger 2.7 liter V6 that had a variable intake system for more torque, and rear double wishbone suspension, which the sedan did not get until the 1989 model year. The Japanese coupe was both longer and wider, which increased its tax liability. Europe received the Legend for the 1987 model year in one trim, the V6-2.5i.
