Kaiser was the passenger car marque of Kaiser Motors, the American company that began as the Kaiser-Frazer Corporation, a joint venture formed in 1945 by the industrialist Henry J. Kaiser and the automobile executive Joseph W. Frazer. Cars carrying the Kaiser name were built at the Willow Run plant in Michigan from 1946, and after the 1953 merger with Willys-Overland production moved to the Willys plant at Toledo, Ohio, where Kaiser cars were built under the same marque until 1955. The Kaiser line included the Deluxe, Carolina, Traveler, Dragon and Manhattan sedans, and the fiberglass Darrin sports car. The company that owned the marque was renamed Kaiser Jeep Corporation in 1963, and its South American operations carried on building cars into the 1960s.
