Toyota offered the Crown as a wagon in the United States for the first time in 1960, at 2,111 dollars for two doors and 2,211 for four, but against the Detroit compacts of the day, American sales dropped to 659 units. In July the RS22L and RS32L series came with the larger 3R engine and other improvements for high speed driving. It was model year 6 of 7 in the Toyota Crown (first generation, RS to S30), 1955 to 1961, coming after the 1959 model year and before the 1961 model year. Model year pages for the Toyota Crown run from 1955 to 2026.
