August 1990 added a supercharged 2.0 liter model built on the wider body of the 3.0 liter car, which placed it in a much higher Japanese tax bracket than the narrower versions. The 2.5 liter 1JZ-FE engine also became available in the station wagon from that month. It was the last model year covered for the Toyota Crown (eighth generation, S130), 1987 to 1990, and the Toyota Crown (ninth generation, S140) came next, following the 1989 model year. Model year pages for the Toyota Crown run from 1955 to 2026.
