The Mayflower was a single generation, using a version of the pre war Standard Flying Ten's side valve engine updated with an aluminium cylinder head and a single Solex carburettor, developing 38 bhp at 4200 rpm. The three speed gearbox, with column shift, came from the Standard Vanguard. It was the first car with unitary construction to be manufactured either by Standard or by the Triumph company that existed before Standard bought its assets. The body was designed by Leslie Moore of Mulliners of Birmingham. Its model years run from 1949 to 1953.
