1958 Triumph Italia 2000

Automobiles

The first Triumph Italia, now known as the slope nosed prototype, was shown at the 1958 Turin Motor Show and was well received, a two door coupe designed by Giovanni Michelotti on the chassis of the TR3. It was built at a Vignale facility in Turin under contract to the Naples firm of Ruffino. The pitch was that Italian artistry and British craftsmanship had come together to produce a superlative coupe on dependable Triumph mechanicals.
