In February 1976 the Starlet underwent some changes, mainly to meet Japan's new emissions requirements. The first generation continued as a coupe and a sedan, sold exclusively through Toyota Auto Store dealers in Japan. It was model year 2 of 3 in the Toyota Starlet (first generation, P40 and P50), 1973 to 1977, coming after the 1975 model year and before the 1977 model year. Model year pages for the Toyota Starlet run from 1973 to 1999.
