The third generation Passo was unveiled in Japan on 12 April 2016 with the Boon, and a better equipped variant was sold by Toyota as the Passo Moda, replacing the Passo Plus Hana. A facelift on 10 October 2018 brought Smart Assist III collision avoidance and a much larger grille on the Moda. Unlike the earlier generations, the Boon of this generation is the only one not built as the matching Perodua Myvi.
