2003 Toyota Matrix

Automobiles

The Matrix was introduced in the 2003 model year after first sales in February 2002, starting at 14,670 dollars for the base car. The XRS, the top trim, used the 2ZZ-GE engine that made 180 horsepower, about 100 horsepower per liter. The instrument cluster of 2003 was completely red, and all wheel drive was optional with the 1ZZ engine. This was the first model year of the Toyota Matrix (first generation, E130), 2003 to 2008, the first generation covered for the Toyota Matrix; the 2004 model year follows it. Model year pages for the Toyota Matrix run from 2003 to 2014.
