The US market 1981 Cressida was the first car to come with motorized automatic shoulder harnesses, which wrapped around front seat occupants when the door was closed and the ignition switched on. In Indonesia the Mark II was sold with the 21R engine beginning in late 1981, and the 5M-E powered the 1981 and 1982 model years. It was model year 2 of 4 in the Toyota Mark II (fourth generation, X50 and X60), 1980 to 1983, coming after the 1980 model year and before the 1982 model year. Model year pages for the Toyota Mark II run from 1968 to 2004.
