The facelifted Innova was launched in India on 28 January 2009, and in August 2009 the E and G type Kijang Innova received improvements such as redesigned side body moulding and chrome ornaments. In August 2009 the petrol only J grade was introduced as the base model in Indonesia. It was model year 6 of 11 in the Toyota Innova (first generation, AN40), 2004 to 2014, coming after the 2008 model year and before the 2010 model year.
