Box van models were added to the Hilux range in July 1970, after the long wheelbase version of April 1969. The 1.9 liter 8R SOHC engine of 97 horsepower was offered from 1970 to 1972, and the Hilux was still sold in most markets under its Hilux name, with the 1.5 liter engine fitted in the base trucks. It was model year 3 of 4 in the Toyota Hilux (first generation, N10), 1968 to 1971, coming after the 1969 model year and before the 1971 model year. Model year pages for the Toyota Hilux run from 1968 to 2026.
