The Etios saloon was launched in December 2010, when commercial production started in India, after the concept versions were shown at the 10th Auto Expo in New Delhi. Toyota invested 350 million dollars building a second plant in India with an initial annual capacity of around 100,000 vehicles. This was the first model year of the Toyota Etios (single generation), 2010 to 2023, the first generation covered for the Toyota Etios; the 2011 model year follows it.
