A final, tenth generation was built between January 1996 and December 2001 for the Japanese market. It was marketed as the Toyota Corona Premio, which became a separate model called the Premio in 2001, coded ST210, with the Allion following the Carina after 2001. Diesel engines included the 2.0 liter 2C-T and later the 2.2 liter 3C-T, and some versions had full time four wheel drive. The ninth generation Corona it followed had been introduced in March 1992.
