The 997 cc OHV P series engine replaced the old S in October 1959 and offered substantially more power, with 45 PS at 5,000 rpm. The car also underwent another facelift, including a mesh grille and a new rear seat that allowed seating for five rather than the previous four. It was the last model year covered for the Toyota Corona (first generation, T10), 1957 to 1959, and the Toyota Corona (second generation, T20 and T30) came next, following the 1958 model year. Model year pages for the Toyota Corona run from 1957 to 2001.
