The Corolla Cross was first unveiled in Thailand in July 2020, together with other Southeast Asian markets and Taiwan that year, and its introduction in other markets began in 2021. It is the second Toyota crossover on the GA-C platform after the smaller C-HR of 2016. A facelift with a redesigned front bumper and body color honeycomb grille arrived in most markets from 2024, and the Chinese twin, the Frontlander, was introduced in late 2021 and is sold only in China.
