Toyota Avalon (first generation, XX10)

Automobiles

The Avalon was introduced in February 1994 at the Chicago show and launched in late 1994 as a 1995 model, built in Georgetown, Kentucky from September 1994. Development began in 1990 under the project code 299T, and Toyota had first used the Avalon name on a convertible sedan concept at the 1991 Tokyo show. It replaced the rear drive Cressida, which had left the American market in 1992. ABS became standard for 1997 and the car was refreshed for 1998.
