Production of the Trailseeker started at the Yajima plant of the Subaru Gunma works on 4 February 2026, and it was officially announced in Japan on 9 April 2026 in the two grades ET-SS, with all wheel or front wheel drive, and ET-HS. In May 2026 a Singapore specification was announced with the same name as in Europe, E-Outback. It is a D segment crossover SUV battery electric vehicle, the sister car of the Toyota bZ4X Touring, whose maker by law is Toyota.
