The Toyota Platz is a subcompact car that Toyota manufactured in Japan from 1999 until 2005, when it was replaced by the Belta. Toyota designated it the XP10 series, and it was also sold in export markets as the Toyota Yaris or the Toyota Echo, the names also given to the export version of the related Vitz hatchback from which the Platz derives. In Japan it was available at Toyopet Store and Netz Toyota Store dealerships. The name is German for space, and a two door version was also sold in North America as the Echo.
