The 2016 LS was the penultimate year of the fourth generation, still a V8 sedan, predominantly rear drive, with the choice of all wheel drive, hybrid and long wheelbase versions. The fifth generation would debut at the Detroit show in January 2017. It was model year 10 of 11 in the Lexus LS (fourth generation, XF40), 2007 to 2017, coming after the 2015 model year and before the 2017 model year.
