The first-generation Range Rover Sport, the L320, was introduced in 2005 after the Range Stormer concept of 2004. It used a modified version of the integrated body frame of the Discovery 3, on a wheelbase 140 millimetres shorter, with independent air suspension and the Terrain Response system, so it could not carry the Discovery's third row. Engines began with Jaguar's 4.4-litre V8 and a supercharged 4.2, and the 2.7-litre TDV6 diesel, with a 3.6-litre TDV8 added in 2007, and facelifts came in 2009 and 2012.
