The second-generation Range Rover Sport, the L494, was shown to the public at the New York Auto Show on 27 March 2013 with a launch party in Manhattan starring Daniel Craig, and sold from 2013 as a 2014 model. It was longer, about 180 kilograms lighter and, unlike the first generation, built on an all-aluminium monocoque like the Range Rover, with Dynamic Response active anti-roll bars. The SVR performance version arrived in 2015, a facelift announced at the 2017 Los Angeles show went into production for 2018, and the car was replaced by the L461 in 2022.
