The 2000 Dodge Ram was a second generation full size pickup, with the 4 door Quad Cab, the 3.9 liter V6, 5.2 and 5.9 liter V8 engines, the 8.0 liter V10 and the Cummins turbo diesel. An NV5600 manual transmission was offered in 1999 and 2000 Rams. Models built after July 1, 2000 featured rear vented disc brakes, and 2001 models began production after that. The Ram's sales trailed those of Ford and GM trucks by 2001.
