For 1959 Pontiac dropped the names Chieftain and Super Chief for its junior level series and renamed it Catalina, while demoting the former top line Star Chief to intermediate status and expanding the Bonneville nameplate to a senior series. In the lower priced Catalina line the four door sedan was the best seller. Its model years run from 1959 to 1960. This page belongs to the Pontiac Catalina model on its Pontiac make page, and it links to the generation and the neighbouring model years so that the whole run of the model can be followed in order.
