The 1961 full sized Pontiacs were completely restyled with more squared off bodylines, the reintroduction of the split grille first seen in 1959, and an all new Torque Box perimeter frame replacing the X frame chassis used since 1958. The new frame provided greater side impact protection and improved interior roominess. Its model years run from 1961 to 1964. This page belongs to the Pontiac Catalina model on its Pontiac make page, and it links to the generation and the neighbouring model years so that the whole run of the model can be followed in order.
