For 1959 Pontiac dropped the names Chieftain and Super Chief for its junior level series and renamed it Catalina, in the year it became a separate model as the entry level full size Pontiac. Division advertising placed higher emphasis on the top trimmed two and four door hardtops, convertible and Safari station wagons, although the four door sedan was the best seller. This page belongs to the Pontiac Catalina model on its Pontiac make page, and it links to the generation and the neighbouring model years so that the whole run of the model can be followed in order.
