In 1982 Plymouth downsized the Gran Fury again onto the mid size M platform it shared with the Dodge Diplomat and the Chrysler Fifth Avenue, replacing the M body Chrysler LeBaron, with the Diplomat's front and rear fascias and base and higher end Salon trim. It was far more popular with police and fleet buyers than with retail customers and remained largely unchanged for its run, ending in early 1989. Its model years run from 1982 to 1989.
