The 307 cubic inch V8, a smaller displacement version of the 350 Rocket, was standard on 1985 Toronados, and the Caliente trim package was offered in 1984 and 1985 alongside the base Toronado Brougham. The 1985 car was the last of the third generation, whose Toronado, Riviera and Eldorado cousins were the last body on frame, front wheel drive cars with longitudinally mounted V8 engines. The 1985 car was the seventh year of the third generation.
