The Series III began in November 1955 with the B series engine enlarged to 1,489 cc, polished stainless steel sweep spears on the body sides that allowed a two tone finish, a redesigned grille and the removal of the non functional hood scoop. The Nash and Hudson names were retired in 1957 and the car was sold simply as the Metropolitan through Rambler dealers. Its model years run from 1956 to 1958.
