Nash brought in a new styling theme called Speedstream for 1934, with ornamental moldings on the body panels and fenders in a streamlined, Art Deco manner, influenced by the Russian count Alexis de Sakhnoffsky, along with bullet shaped headlights, rear wheel spats and built in luggage boots. The Ambassador Eight was limited to four door sedan body styles that year and faced fresh competition from the lower priced LaSalle and the Chrysler Imperial Airflow.
