In February 1984 a 1800 diesel turbo with the 4D65 Sirius diesel and a 1600 series were added, and in June the two liter grade names changed from GSR to Super Exceed with a new variable valve G63B Sirius DASH 3x2 or an intercooler turbo of 200 PS gross. In October a four door hardtop was added, successor of the Galant Lambda, which was built until 1990 and led to the Diamante and the Sigma. The Greek letter Sigma in the Galant Sigma name was meant to mean a summing up of the effort of the maker.
