With the launch of the TJ series in July 2000 the Magna offered revised styling. The last TH series production, between May and June 2000, was 1,000 Executive LS units, automatic only. Given its long serving architecture and slow sales from circa 2000, MMAL management specifically excluded the Magna as a name for its replacement. The Magna was developed as a replacement for the Mitsubishi Sigma, with each generation derived from Japanese platforms re engineered for the Australian market and conditions.
