In the third quarter of 1989 a twin cam version of the 3.0 liter V6 engine with four valves per cylinder was introduced to the Debonair. The Debonair of 1989 was in its fourth year of the second generation, a front wheel drive executive sedan with the Cyclone V6 engines and a shorter and narrower body for the 2.0 liter engine. The trunk was designed so that two sets of golf clubs could be carried. The second and third generations met with considerable success in South Korean license production.
