The Classic Mini in 1973 was in its fifth year of the Mini marque, sold in the basic 850 and the Clubman and 1275 GT versions, all with the rubber cone suspension, in the Mark III form that British Leyland produced at Longbridge. It was a car that had changed little since the Mark II of 1967, aside from winding windows and its new Mini badging. The Mini Clubman and 1275 GT were the more powerful models of the line.
