1997 Mercury Grand Marquis

Automobiles

The Grand Marquis outsold the Crown Victoria again in 1997, and from 1997 onward the Ford Crown Victoria served as the primary competitor of the Grand Marquis, as it was the only other nameplate offering rear wheel drive, body on frame construction and a V8 in a full size sedan. 1997 was the last year of the second generation before the evolutionary update that went on sale in late 1997 for 1998. It was sold in GS base and LS deluxe trims.
