For 1990, as part of an addition of a driver's side airbag, the entire instrument panel and dashboard of the Colony Park received a redesign, and all outboard seats received three point seatbelts. It remained the sole full size Mercury wagon, with the updated front end introduced in 1988 and GS and LS trim levels, in its last full year of production. It was marketed against the Buick Estate and Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser. Eight passenger seating was standard equipment.
