For 1983 the Colony Park became the sole full size Mercury wagon, as the base Marquis wagon of the previous year was no longer offered as a full size model. It was the woodgrain trimmed wagon of the Grand Marquis line with the fuel injected 5.0 V8, eight passenger seating and few changes to body and trim across the thirteen years of the generation. The Colony Park was a Panther platform wagon and the flagship station wagon series of Ford Motor Company.
