On 24 May 2000 the Scrum van and wagon received a partial improvement together with the truck, which put driver and passenger airbags, four wheel ABS and seatbelt pretensioners as standard or optional on most grades and led to a reshuffle of the grade lineup and some price cuts. The Scrum of 2000 was in its second year as the third generation, a semi cab over kei vehicle. The Scrum was sold by Mazda in Japan as a kei van, wagon and truck.
