The third generation Scrum was fully changed on 19 January 1999, with the truck, to meet the new kei rules, with a larger body and a semi cab over style that placed the front wheels ahead of the cabin, while keeping the engine under the seat. The van had four grades and a 50 PS three cylinder SOHC or 60 PS turbo engine, and a wagon was added on 8 December. The Scrum was an OEM version of the Suzuki Every and Carry. The front grille and bumpers of the Scrum van and wagon were the same as those of the Every, and the truck the same as the Carry.
