1988 Mazda RX-7

Automobiles

The convertible reached the United States market in 1988, with advertisements featuring the actor James Garner, who appeared in many Mazda television advertisements. In the United States the convertible came only with the naturally aspirated engine, while elsewhere it was turbocharged only, and about 22,000 were built. Mazda also made the 10th Anniversary RX-7 in 1988, limited to 1,500 white cars based on the Turbo II.
