The MX-5 won the 2012 Autocar Indonesia Reader's Choice Award as Favorite Convertible. The NC was in its eighth year, with the soft top roadster and the Power Retractable Hard Top, and was on the Car and Driver 10Best list for the seventh year in a row. It was a lightweight two seater built by Mazda at Hiroshima. It was created under the design credo of unity of horse and rider. In Japan it was marketed as the Mazda Roadster.
