The original DW model Demio was produced in the Colombia plant of Mazda until the end of 2007, when the DE model replaced it, and the third generation of the Demio appeared in early 2007. The Demio of 2007 was thus the last year of the first generation, a car of 1996 that had been sold as the Mazda 121 outside Japan and Europe and as the Ford Festiva Mini Wagon in Japan. The Demio was built on the Mazda D platform, preceded by the Ford Festiva and the Autozam Revue.
