The eighth generation Carol is based on the ninth generation Alto, and the OEM version Mazda Carol was released on 23 December 2021 and went on sale in January 2022. It has no difference from the Alto except the emblem, with the grades GS, GX and GL offered only as hybrids, renamed in a 2025 facelift. Suzuki manufactures it for Mazda. The car was sold in Japan as a kei car, built to the size and engine limits of that class. Its model years run from 2021 to 2025.
