The Bongo of 1992 was in its tenth year of the third generation, a cabover van sold as the Mazda E series in Australia and most of Mazda's export markets. The 4.7 meter long Econovan Maxi van was also offered. In Japan the Bongo and the Eunos Cargo were the van line that Mazda sold alongside the Bongo Brawny. It also formed the basis for the long running Kia Bongo range. The Bongo was also known as the Ford Econovan and Eunos Cargo, and it has been built with rear, middle and front mounted engines.
